On March 31st, five Mid Oregon Credit Union representatives went to Salem to participate in grassroots advocacy for Oregon Credit Union Day at the Capital. Mid Oregon Board Chair Jan Uffelman and President and CEO Bill Anderson were accompanied by Sales Manager Jessica George, Contact Center Manager Robert Dennis and Controller Mariah Smith for a busy day meeting with state leaders and interacting with nearly 200 other credit union professionals.
Not only did the advocates visit legislative offices; key leadership came to address the larger group meetings including Governor Kate Brown, Senate President Peter Courtney and Speaker of the House Tina Kotek. The main message brought to the capital was the cooperative structure of credit unions delivered $1.9 billion in economic value to Oregon last year and drove immeasurable community impact.
Credit Union Day at the Capitol is a rich Oregon tradition. The Northwest Credit Union Association sponsors the event.
